  • Classification/Exemplification - process of classifying
  • Comparison and contrast - the writer compares and contrasts two or more things, ideas, or concepts.
  • Cause and effect - the relationship between the cause and the effect of the event.
  • Problem solution essay - aims to solve a problem or to solve a problem and to explain how it was solved
  • Persuasion - the process of influencing others to change their opinions or behaviour.
