• Reaction Time

  1. Place your non-dominant hand on the table, with your hand hanging over the edge if the table
  2. Have your partner hold a ruler between 2 of your fingers starting at 0cm
  3. Make partner 2 let go of the ruler without any warning
  4. Catch the ruler as fast as possible
  5. Catch and record the number level with the top of the thumb
  6. Repeat 5 times
• Field Investigation- Random

  1. Use a random number generator for 2 numbers
  2. Use as coordinates
  3. Set down quadrats at coordinates and record the number of species
  4. Repeat 9 times and estimate using: area sampled/total area × number of species
• Field Investigation- continuous sampling

  1. Make a line of the area you want to study (transect)
  2. Collect data along the transect
  3. Repeat until end of transects
  4. Find mean and plot graph
