• What do competitive inhibitors do?

  Bind to the active site of the molecule as they have a similar shape to the substrate
• What happens to competitive inhibitors if substrate concentration increases?

  Less Inhibition
• What do non-competitive inhibitors do?

  Bind to an enzyme at a point other than the active site
• How do non-competitive inhibitors work?

  Alter the shape of the active site so the substrates can no longer fit
• What does adding more substrate do to non-competitive inhibitors?

  No effect. They aren’t competing for the same space
