  • types of character motivation:
    1. intrinsic motivation
    • internal drive that pushes a character to act,
    • deeply personal and stems from character's values, beliefs or desires
    2. extrinsic motivation
    • driven by external factors or rewards
    • eg by fame, welath, power, or the desire to impress others
  • Abraham Maslow's hierarchy of needs in TiE:
    1. Shaun- intrinsic motivation -> wanting to make his dad proud, physiological, (safety)
    2. Combo - physiological, (safety). extrinsic motivation -> nationalism, patriotism, racism
    3. Lol - physiological (safety, love and belonging)
