    Clothing from the Joseon period, consisting of a jeogori (upper jacket) and chima (skirt) for women, and a jeogori (jacket) and baji (pants) for men. Women's hairstyles commonly have a braid with a large ribbon attached, known as daengi-meori.

  • Changgyeonggung Palace
    • It was a residence for the royal as a secondary palace
    • It was originally built as 'Suganggung' by King Sejong and the third palace built by the Joseon dynasty
    • This royal palace was uniquely designed and built in an east-west orientation, as opposed to the strict north-south orientation of typical royal designs
  • Bukchon Hanok Village
    • It is a residential community with traditional Korean houses called Hanok
    • The area is filled with traditional houses and lovely architecture from the Joseon Dynasty
    • Visitors are advised to respect the community when walking around the area
  • The Seohwa Hanbok is close to Gyeongbokgung and other tourist spots, has complicated design hanbok garments, and is quite affordable
  • Hanbok can be rented for half or a full day, and they offer clothing for men, women, and even children
  • It's best to rent hanbok between Wednesdays-Sundays, as most palaces are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays
  • Admission to Seoul's Palaces is FREE when wearing hanbok
