    Connected to natural rights due to the fact that the government should not have excessive power to violate these rights, these rights must be protected

    Power to govern is in the hands of the people

    People willing give up some of their rights to a centralized government for law & order

    The people can overthrow against that government in order for a better one who can secure the people's natural rights

    Governments are only given the right to be instituted due to the people or "consent of the governed"

    The people are giving the government their consent to be ruled, by giving up some of their rights to have their rights secured

    People elect leaders that best represent their will & interest, so they can pass laws that best represent the interests of the people

    Powers should be separated into three branches; Executive, Judicial & Legislative. Each branch can check each other so none of the branches grow too powerful
