  • Pilgrimage: 'I'll labour night and day to be a pilgrim'. Lourdes - Many Christians believe that the Virgin Mary appeared here to St Bernadette. Many seek healing where Bernadette dug up the ground and found a spring of water. Iona: West coast of Scotland. Referred to as the 'cradle of Christianity. The Book of Kells was produced here.
  • Celebrations: 'Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him'.
  • The worldwide church: Poverty and Charity: 'I have decided to stick with love. Hate is too great a burden to bear'.
  • The role of the church in the community: 'If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person?' Street pastors - Go on the streets at night to help people who are homeless or vulnerable. The salvation army - Married couple were upset about how many churches weren't doing anything to help with the amount of deprivation.
  • Mission and evangelism: 'Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations baptising them in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit'. The Ichthus fellowship: 'Planting churches'.
  • Persecution: The Aegis trust: Helps people from all faiths who have been affected by genocides. They also work to provide education to prevent genocides.
  • Reconciliation: Corrymeela: Brings together Protestants and Catholics to live together and help restore their relationships after their disputes. Cross of Nails: Two beams remains after Coventry Cathedral was bombed in ww2, in the shape of a cross and sent to Germany as a sign of forgiveness to restore their relationship.
