Testing for proteins

• Reagent:

  biuret solution
• Colour at start:

  Blue
• Colour if protein is present:

  lilac (purple/pink)
• A food sample is placed in a boiling tube with some biuret reagent. Secure a bung on the boiling tube and shake.
