Change of phase

• When you change the phase of matter, you are either giving or taking away energy
• Solid -> Liquid = melting/boiling (adding energy)
• Liquid -> gas = evaporation (adding energy)
• Gas -> liquid = condensation (taking energy)
• Liquid -> solid = freezing (taking energy)
• Solid -> gas = sublimation
