  • Tara-making is a colorful and vibrant pieces of art that people from the cultured town are known for. They are paper-mache figures of dolls in different forms. May it be a Filipiniana, a carabao or a horse. Being a paper-mache, it is made up of paper pieces or pulp and then hardened by gewgaw
  • Tara-making is not an exclusive Pinoy art
  • The first record recorded Taka creation in the Philippines was by Maria Bangue in the 1920's. Her first creation is a present as children's toy, but unfortunately due to fire, none of the original takas were saved
  • Tara-making became more popular during American colonization period because people of Paete created more than just the traditional horse
  • Embroidery is the main industry of the town of Taal, Batangas and Lucban, Laguna; it's what fuels the economy, close second are fishing and agriculture. Almost every townfolk is connected in one way or another with the making of barong tagalogs, embroided items like wedding gowns, handkerchief, purses, table mats and runners, scarves, dollies, abanicos and so much more
  • Mostly done by women who are wives of the farmers and fisherman but not uncommon to see fisherman and farmers who are also carefully and delicately embroidering floral designs during their "Off-Season"

    Art of shaving bamboo into artful creations, used as decor for arches and home, usually a celebrating art, being made by Singkaban craftsmen for fiestas, weddings and other celebrations that involve the entire community

  • Puni
    A tagalog term from the province of Bulacan which means to beautify or decorate with the use of coconut leaf, where coconut leaves are fashioned by folding, plaiting, braiding, and simple weaving, which may have functional as well as aesthetic uses
