  • Fertilisation - Haploid sperm cell fuses with haploid egg nucleus to give a diploid zygote.
  • Pregnancy - Fertilised egg, zygote, divides many times by mitosis to form a ball of cells as it travels down oviduct.
  • Implantation - Uterus lining is where embryo implants.
    Placenta and umbilical cord form.
    Amniotic sac develops.
    Now called a foetus.

    • Stimulation of ovulation.
  • Progesterone
    • Responsible for build up and maintenance of uterus lining.
