• Why would some people agree/disagree with the statement ‘The best title for Jesus is ‘Son of Man’.’?

  Agree: It reminds Christians of the extent of Jesus' love for humanity and how he allowed them to understand the true message of salvation. ('He revealed God to men and presented men to God' - St Iraneus)

  
  

  Disagree: Jesus referred to himself as the 'Son of the Blessed One' ('"Are you the Messiah, the son of the Blessed One?" Jesus said, "I am"' - Mark)

  The Word became flesh and lived among us, and the Word is God
• Give two teachings from John 1:14

  The word was made flesh and dwelt among us, Jesus revealed his glory to us
• Explain two reasons why Christians believe Jesus was the Son of God

  • In both Luke and Matthew's accounts an angel visits Mary or Joseph and tells them that Jesus is God's son
  • The high priest asked "Are you the messiah, the Son of the Blessed One?" and Jesus said, "I am."
