• EARTHQUAKE HAZARDS - anything associated with an earthquake that may affect the normal activities of people
• EARTHQUAKE - It generates a large enough shaking intensity, structures like buildings, bridges and dams can be severely damaged, and cliffs and sloping ground destabilized. 
• LIQUEFACTION -  takes place when loosely packed, water-logged sediments at or near the ground surface lose their strength in response to strong ground shaking.
• DAMAGE FROM LIQUEFACTION - When the ground becomes liquid, it can no longer support the weight of buildings, so these tend to sink. The overlying ground can also sink, spread and crack. Underground pipes and tanks float and break.
• TSUNAMI WAVES -  resulting from the 7.1 magnitude earthquake
• LANDSLIDES - defined as the movement of a mass of rock, debris, or earth down a slope.

• WEST VALLEY FAULT - runs through Metro Manila to the cities of Marikina, Quezon City, Pasig, Makati, Taguig and Muntinlupa and moves in a dominantly dextral strike-slip motion. It generated a 7.2 magnitude earthquake, 34,000 people may die
• NATURAL WARNINGS - GROUND SHAKING, a LOUD OCEAN ROAR, or the WATER RECEDING UNUSUALLY FAR exposing the sea floor are all nature's warnings that a tsunami may be coming.
• RING OF FIRE -  region around much of the rim of the Pacific Ocean where many volcanic eruptions and earthquakes occur. The Ring of Fire is a horseshoe-shaped belt about 40,000
