• brain is protected by the skull and heart is protected by the ribcage
• Produce bone marrow - produce red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets
• Red Blood Cells (RBC) - transport oxygen throughout body
• Platelets - form clots when there's an injury
• White Blood Cells (WBC) - fight infection and disease
