STATS

Cards (15)

  • Statistics- A branch of mathematics that examine and investigate ways to process and analyzed the data gathered
  • Inferential Statistics- This refers to those methods concerned with the analysis of a subset of data leading to predictions and inferences about the entire set of data.
  • Parameter- It is any numerical value describing a characteristic of a population.
  • Descriptive Analysis- This includes methods concerned with collecting, organizing, summarizing, and presenting without drawing inference about a large group.
  • Discrete Variable- What do you call a variable that has countable number of values.
  • Mode- A point on the measurement scale with the maximum frequency in the given distribution.
  • Union of A and B- Set of outcomes that are in either event A or event B or both.
  • Complement B- Set of all outcomes not in event B.
  • Pie Chart- it is a circular graph that shows how measurements are distributed among the categories.
  • Sample Space- Set of all possible outcomes in an experiment.
  • Skewness- It refers to the symmetry or asymmetry of a frequency distribution.
  • Uniform Probability- Equally likely values for random variable.
  • Continuous Random Variable- Variable taking any value in real line interval.
  • Selected at Random- Which of the following can be considered as the best sample?
  • Systematic- A researcher was given a random list of all graduating senior high school students. He decided to conduct a survey by asking every seventh student on the list regarding the courses that they want to take in college. What type of sampling technique is the researcher planning to use?
