Forces

• Friction forces - acting against an object in contact
• Normal force - force that acts perpendicular to the surface of the object
• Tension force - applied to string, rope, chain, or table
• Non-contact force - force whe objects do not touch or contact with each other
• Gravitational - forces of attraction between two objects
• Magnetic - forces exerted on a field of attraction or repulsion
• Balanced forces - equal in magnitude but opposite in direction, do not cause motion
• Unbalanced forces - cause change in motion, forces are not equal & in opposite directions
• Net or Resultant force - two or more forces in the same line of action
