  • A relation is the pairing of one quantity with another quantity, and it is defined as a mapping or pairing. They can also be reffered to as related ordered pairs.
  • A function is a set of ordered pairs of real numbers such that each element of the x-coordinates is paired with a corresponding element of the y-coordinates.
  • One-to-one relation: If every element of the domain is paired with a unique element of the range.
  • Many-to-one relation: If more than one element of the domain is paired with one element of the range
  • Many-to-one relation: If more than one element of the domain is paired with one element of the range
  • Relations can be presented by: Ordered pairs, tables, graphs, a mapping diagram, and equations.
  • Variable x = independent, while variable y = dependent.
