    Set of traits and behavior that society considers acceptable. When members of the society do not conform to establish norms, one can experience negative consequences, such as punishment or social stigma. Norms are one of the ways that society regulates the behavior to establish social order

    Informal, unwritten norms within a society or social group, passed down through generations. While less serious than mores, they still shape social interactions and order. They vary widely across cultures, covering manners, etiquette, dress codes, and rituals

    Moral norms. The term 'more' comes from 'morality'. If you break a more, society will consider you to be immoral. Mores are crucial societal norms, more serious than folkways, governing behaviors vital for social order. Breaking mores can lead to severe social or legal consequences
  • Taboos
    A strong societal prohibition against certain behaviors or topics deemed morally, religiously, or socially unacceptable. They're often things that no one talks about because they're so embarrassing and socially unacceptable
