    Identifies the writer, her/his address, and contact numbers
  • Dateline
    Serves as a chronological record for reference purposes
  • Inside Address
    Identifies the reader's name, position and company, and address of the company
  • Salutation
    Refers to the writer's greeting to the reader/audience
  • Introduction
    Introduce yourself and identify the job for which you're applying. Mention where you heard about the job.
  • Body
    The body paragraph of your cover letter must really sell you as the best candidate for the job.
  • Conclusion
    Thank the reader and imply the next steps. Leave a personal note expressing your interest.

    Refers to the expression used to end a letter.

    Includes the typed name of the sender, it can be in all caps.
