  • Death: In the most serious cases, food poisoning and allergic reactions require hospitalisation and can even be fatal. Anaphylactic shock caused by an allergic reaction is especially dangerous. Disgust: Nobody wants to eat, smell or see spoiled or contaminated food. Distress: Some customers may be afraid of illness, choking, insects or rodents. It can lead to a loss of confidence and psychological damage (if the illness is bad).
  • Injury: Physical contaminants such as jewelry bones or fruit stones can cause injury to the mouth and digestive tract. They can also damage teeth or cause choking if the object is large enough. Illness: Food poisoning and allergic reactions can cause mild to severe illness. This can force some people to take time off work. Symptoms may include vomiting, diarrhoea and anaphylactic shock.
