TITRATION

• A titration is a reaction between what ?

• Step 1 in titration

  Add 25cm 3 of alkali to the flask.
• Step 2 titration

  Add a few drops of indicator to the alkali.
• Step 3 titration


  Fill the burette with acid using a funnel.
• Step 4 titration

  Record the starting volume.
• Step 5 titration

  Add acid to the alkali with swirling until a colour change is observed.
• Step 6 titration

  Record final volume.
• Step 7 titration

  The amount added is found by taking the starting volume from the final volume.
• Step 8 titration

  Wash out conical flask and repeat steps 1 to 6 until you have results within 0.5cm3.
