  • minor rising, focused on traditional yorkist heartlands of Yorkshire+the midlands
  • led by viscount lovell (Yorkshire) + Humphry stafford, with his brother Thomas stafford(midlands)
  • attracted little support+ was easily suppressed
  • lovell escaped to burgundy; Humphrey stafford was captured + executed
  • Significance= little support for the Yorkist cause
• 1487-Lambert Simnel+the rebellion of the Earl of Lincoln:

  • Yorkist conspiracy arranged by the Earl of Lincoln,using Lambert Simnel as figurehead
  • Simnel impersonated the imprisoned Earl of warwick in london
  • Lincoln fled to the court of Margaret of Burgundy+joined lord lovell; they persuaded Margaret to support simnel+pay for mercenaries
  • H7 neutralised Yorkist support bby reinstating the Earl of Northumberland a traditional Yorkist supporter to power in the north
  • Yorkists land in cumberland and are defeated by H7 at the battle of stoke field june 1487 earl of lincoln killed
