• GENDER EQUALITY: the state of equal access to resources and opportunities regardless of gender
• women and men and girls and boys enjoys the same rights resources, opportunities, and protections (UNICEF)
• EQUALITY - Equal opportunities and the same level of support for all segments of the society
• EQUITY - offering varying levels of support depending upon the need to achieve greater fairness and outcome
• AFFIRMATIVE ACTION = explicitly favoring those who tend to suffer from discrimination
• PARTICIPATORY DEVELOPMENT - stakeholders can influence and share control over development initiatives
• COMMUNITY EMPOWERMENT - process of enabling communities to increase control over their lives
• DECIDE - project team must analyze the merits
• IMPLEMENT - Variety techniques can be used to empower the public but hands on approaches are the most effective
• LISTEN - it is important to listen especially in implementing empowerment model of outreach
• FOLLOW UP - following up with communities is equally important to maintain trust and friendship
