• Mutuations are a change in base sequence randomly occuring during DNA replication, likely to occur when exposed to mutagenic agents like radiation
• Substitution is when a base is replaced by another base in a DNA sequence, but may not affect amino acid sequence due to being degenerate
• Deletion is the removal of a base of DNA causing a frameshift, can be harmful
