  • PCL:
    • prevents tibia from being pushed back
    • prevents femur from sliding forward
  • PCL injuries - Typical presentation:
    • Audible Snap or Pop
    • Retropatellar Pain
    • Possible haemarthrosis
    • Difficulty walking down
    • Posterior sag sign
  • PCL tests - Sag sign
    • bringing heel up so tibia is horizontal and gravity is pushing down
    • positive test: should see tibia sag
  • PCL tests - Posterior drawer (stress) test:
    • knee at 90 degree, glide through tibial tuberosity posteriorly
    • positive test: increased laxity and soft end feel
  • PCL tests:
    • posterior drawer test
    • sag sign
