• bar charts - data divided into categories - bars do not touch
• histograms - bars touch continuous data
• line graphs - connected by lines to show change in values
• scattergrams - used to show associations
• normal dustribution - symmetrical bell shaped
• skewed distribution - spread of data clusters to one end
• positive skew - data is concentrated on the right
• negative skew - data is concentrated on the left
