MainIdea -One central idea that the rest of the paragraph follows.
Main Idea -Found in the topic sentence.
Topic Sentence is usually found in the beginning, middle and the end of the paragraph or sometimes just implied.
Inference is the understanding of each statements and the relationship among the statements.
In inference, you should be able to pinpoint the general impression or feeling that the passage leave.
Inference -Requires understanding of what has been read.
Conclusion -usually come at the end of the passages.
Retention of Details -Must note specific names and dates.
Simile -Directly assessing a resemblance in one or more points, of one thing to another.
"My patience is like traffic in the EDSA, it is endless." Is an example of Simile literary device.
"Life without love is like a tree without blossoms or fruit." Is an example of Simile literary device.
"Not forgiving is like drinking rat poison and then waiting for the rat to die." Is an example of Simile literary device
Metaphor -Pretends that something is something.
"Work today was a nightmare!" Is an example of Metaphor literary device

Synecdoche -A part is put for the whole or the whole for the part.

Personification -Inanimate objects are bestowed with human traits.
"She sat down at the tired, overworked desk." Is an example of Personification literary device.
Metaphor -Comparing two things without using "like" or "as".

Simile - Comparison between two different things using “like” or “as”.

In Coherence, sentences should be arranged and tied together in such a way a reader can easily follow.
In Coherence, it is important to see the relationship to the sentence that precedes it and to the one that follow it.
To achieve such coherence, you must arrange the sentences into some logical and recognizable order.
You can develop a more flexible sense of organization if you also look at some patterns that are more exclusively patterns or principles of organization.
