  • Modal Verb - It is a verb that combines with another verb to indicate mood or also known as modak auxiliary verb.
  • Expressing Obligation - In order to express the idea of obligation, to talk about rules, duties, or orders, to give strong advice to other people or to ourselves.
  • Expressing Prohibition - In expressing prohibition, it uses can't, mustn't, shouldn't, or to show something that is prohibited.
  • Expressing Permission - To show permission such as can + may.
  • Condition - Extremely important in English language because us express things that may happen in the present and the future.

    • Used in semi formal situations
    • Listeners are allowed to give feedback
    • Used in conversations between strangers
