Taking accurate and correct measurement
Stand
naturally when being measured
Tape measure
is the standard measuring device for taking body measurements
Paper
and
pencil
used to record the needed body measurements
Apex distance - Measurement from the tip of one shoulder downward along the back to the other shoulder.
Horizontal
Measurement - is taken from the left of the figure going to the right like apex distance shoulder width etc
Vertical
measurement - is taken from the top of the body figure to its base like length of the skirt length of the sleeve etc
Circumferential
measurement - is taken around the body like waistline, hip line etc
Waistline
- it is taken around the natural waste which is approximately 2 inches above your hip bone
Hipline
- it is taken around the fullest part of the hips as guide this is often 20 cm below your natural waistline
Skirt
length
- this is the vertical measurement taking from the waist down to the desired length
Apex
distance
- this measurement is taken from the bust going to another bus
Shoulder
width
- this is the horizontal measurement across the shoulder
Hip
circumference
- this is the widest part of the hips
Bust
circumference
- this is the widest part of the chest or breast area
Sleeve
length
- this is the vertical measurement from the top of the shoulder down to the wrist
Outseam
- this is the outside leg measurement
Inseam
- this is the inside leg measurement
Put
