    1. place drops of iodine solution in rows on the tiles
    2. label the test tube with the pH to be tested
    3. use a syring to place 2cm of amylase and 1cm of buffer solution
    4. use another test tube to add 2cm of starch solution to the amylase + buffer solution
    5. start the stop watch whilst mixing and after 10 seconds place droplets of the mixture
    6. it shoud turn blue or black
  • the quicker the iodine solution turns orange/brown the quicker the starch has been digested
