• In the NT Jesus is shown as being a miracle worker, healing the sick and driving out demons. Miracle stories have and remain an important park of Christians but these stories are controversial, as through miracles, Jesus confounded the mechanical orderliness of the universe
• Jesus' power to perform miracles are things that only God's son can do reinforcing the fact that Jesus is God
