2019 election

• Results- conservatives won 80 seat majority and labour reduced to 203 seats worst defeat and lib send wkn 11 seats and SNP dominated Scotland winning 48 out of 59 Scottish seats
• Social factors- regional divide were important and age 56% of 17-24 votes labour and 57% of 60-69 vote’s conservatives
• Valence issues- party unity removed the whip from Tory mp who voted no deal brexit , economic competence opinion polls showed that voters did not trust labour on the economy and party leaders- corybn failure to tackle anti sensitise makes his ratings decrease
• Salient issues- healthcare spending was important to voters and all the main parties promised this
• Election campaign- conservatives play it safe with just electoral promises and Johnson ran a traditional campaign with high media events
• Media influenc- negative coverage of Jeremy corbyn and conservative used Facebook to appeal to older voters
• Party leaders- Boris Johnson conservative. Jeremy corbyn labour. Jo Swindon Lib Dem. Nicolas sturgeon SNP
