Shabbat

• Shabbat is celebrating every week from Friday evening to Saturday evening
• The woman of the family lights two candles and says a blessing to welcome Shabbat
• Two loaves of bread called challah are blessed
• The kiddish prayer is then recited over a cup of wine and the meal is a time of happiness and relaxation with the family
• On the Saturday, the family goes to the Synagogue.
• Shabbat is a day of complete rest
• At the end of Shabbat there’s a special ceremony called Havdalah, which means separation.
