Types of rainfall

• Frontal rainfall:

  A warm air mass meets a cold air mass . The warm air rises over the cool air . The rising air cools . The water vapour condenses.

  Found in mid - latitude regions .
• Convectional rainfall:

  Sun warms the ground and air . Currents of warm air rise . The rising air cools and condenses.

  Found in tropical rainforests
• Relief rainfall:

  Prevailing winds bring warm , moist air which is forced to rise over high areas. Air cools and condenses forming clouds .

  Found in mountainous areas
