• design of study - did involve independant group design - did involve repeated measures or matched pairs
• level of data - ordinal, nominal or interval
• nominal data that is unrelated = chi squared
• nominal data that is related = sign test
• nominal data - test of association - chi squared
• ordinal data unrelated - mann whitney
• ordinal data related - wilcoxon
• ordinal data test of association - spearmans rho
• interval data unrelated = unrelated t test
• interval data related - related t test
• interval test of association - pearsons r
• statistical tests are used to determine if a significant difference or correlation exists
• discover if difference - using calculated value and critical value
• rule of r - if ther is an r in name of test - calculated value has to be greater or equal to critical value to be significant
