Geometry
is the branch of mathematics that deals with shapes, angles, dimensions and sizes of a variety of things we see in everyday life
Geometry is derived from Ancient Greek words – 'Geo' means
'Earth'
'metron' means
'measurement'.
Area
- The space occupied by a flat shape or the surface of an object.
Perimeter
- Continous line forming the boundary of a closed geometrc figure.
Circumference
- Distance around the edge of a circle or sphere.
Surface Area
- Total area of all surfaces of a 3-dimensional obejct.
Volume
- Amount of three-dimensional space enclosed within a solid object. The amount can be held, as measured in cubic units.
