  • They sailed in San Lucar de Barrameda across the Atlantic Ocean.
  • After a month, the explorers reached South America.
  • When they reached the Port of St. Julian (Argentina), Mendoza, Quesada, and Cartegana had a misunderstanding because of Magellan and their bad experiences and i led to rebellion and contradiction to him.

  • While they are leaving the St. Julian Port, the Santiago ship was destroyed by a storm and this led to the moving of people to the other ships.

  • On March 16, 1521, Pigafetta reported that they reached the isle of Zamal (Samar). But Magellan decided to land in another uninhabited island (Leyte) for greater security were they could rest for a few days.
