  • Angels
    Angels act as important messengers between Allah and humans. They watch over humans and record people's deeds. They are one of the six articles of faith for Sunni Muslims, illustrating their fundamental importance.
  • Angels - Jibril and Mika'il
    Jibril as the messenger who brought the Qur'an to Muhammad.
    Mika'il as the Angel of Mercy who rewards good deeds and asks Allah to forgive people.

    The Night of Power is the name given to the night that the Angel Jibril first appeared to Muhammad and began revealing the Qur’an.
    It is celebrated during Ramadan as its seen as a time of thanksgiving
  • Id ul-Adha
    the remembrance of sacrifice and marks the end of Hajj to Makkah.
    The festival is a reminder of Allah’s blessings and shows how important it is to submit to Allah.
  • Story for Id ul-Adha
    Ibrahim had a dream that God told him to sacrifice his son; as he was about to do it, Allah told him to not, and to kill the animal instead. It was meant to test Ibrahims loyalty to Allah.
    Muslims commemorate and remember Ibrahim’s trials by slaughtering an animal. The meat is divided into three. A third is kept, a third is given to relatives or neighbours and a third is given to the poor.
  • Id ul-Fitr:
    occurs at the end of Ramadan and is a day of thanksgiving to Allah.
    It is a festival that celebrates that Muslims have completed the Fourth Pillar of Islam which is sawm. (fasting)
  • Ashura (Shia celebration)

    Ashura is a day on which Shi’a Muslims commemorate the death of Hussein, Ali’s son, in battle.
    Shi'a muslims go as far as hurting themselves to experience the pain Hussein must have felt during the battle.
    Sunni muslims usually observe this celebration but do not find it as important as Shia muslims.
