  • Predisposition disease- nherited genes that determine growth, development, health and apperance
  • Susceptible disease- an increased likelihood of acquiring a disease because of an individual's genetic makeup
  • Biological factors- the environment inside a mother's womb can have a dramatic infulence on a child's development. It can affect a child's long term development including there attention span and learning disabilities

    Physical- smaller head caused by poor brain development
    Intellectual- learning difficulties, neurological problems

    Rubella-impared hearing or eyesight, damaged heart
    Cytomegalovirus- deafness, learning difficulties

    Diet high in sugar and fat- baby has high blood sugar, cholesterol, heart disease
    Malnutrition- poor health
    Smoking- low birth rate, infections, high risk of cot death
    Drugs- learning disabilities, possibility of epilepsy
