  • Velocity-time graphs
Shows how velocity changes over time. The slope, equal to rise over run, is equal to the acceleration of the object. Acceleration is the change in velocity over time. The area under a velocity versus time graph is equal to displacement, the difference in position between the start and end.
  • What is the rule of velocity-time graph?
On a velocity-time graph a horizontal (flat) line indicates the object is travelling at a constant speed. A straight diagonal line indicates the object's velocity is changing.
  • What does the slope of a velocity-time graph represent?
The slope of a velocity graph represents an object's acceleration.
