Dysplastic Spondylolisthesis

  • Spondylolisthesis – Dysplastic (pts in adolescence):
    • Congenital defect of facets (upper S1 or lower L5 facets)
    • No pars interarticularis fracture, but pars can elongate causing slippage of L5 over S1
    • Pain often in adolescence
    • Likely to progress
    • Possible presentation of neurological symptoms
    • Probably presents with Phalen-Dickson Sign:
    • Tight hamstrings
    • Lordotic posture
    • Bent knees
    • Flexed hips
    • Waddling gait
