• oil-based paint- comes from either alkyd or linseed oil, and covers thoroughly in one coat, takes longer to dry and gives matte finish when applied on surfaces
• water-based paint- primarily composed of water, easy to dry and performs brilliantly on exterior surfaces because this is more resistant to UV rays, this is applied for priming and waterproofing
• solvent-based paint- contains heavier organic compounds than any kind of paint, highly flammable, this dries fast and gives a shiny texture for both wood and metal surfaces

• paint roller- used for painting flat surfaces, has a handle and a roller frame
• scraper- typically made of hard stone and is used for scraping metal and wood surfaces

• staining- a process of applying stain on bamboo and wood products. stain is a dyeing material that makes the surfaces smooth and gives color and illusion of texture to the material
• etching- a process of creating designs on metal or glass. the image is transferred by incising the designs into the printing plate
• metal- a hard, shiny, malleable, fusible, and ductile material, also a good electrical conductor
• wood- a very useful material that comes from trees

• selling- a marketing function that involves identifying the customers needs and wants
• gross sales- this is the overall sales of the product being sold

• income- the remaining amount after deducting the total expenses
• computing- used to determine the profit and the expenses in producing the products
