Earth's Rotation and Revolution

• It is Earth's imaginary straight line that runs through the North and South Poles is called as Axis
• The spinning or turning of Earth on its axis is called Rotation
• The Earth's rotation appears Counterclockwise or from west to east.
• It takes 24 hours for the earth to complete one rotation
• Every day, the Earth spins around its axis, making sunrises and sunsets.
• The Earth's axis of rotation is tilted by 23.5 angle.
• 23.5 angle is perpendicular to the plane of the Earth's Orbit
• This tilt causes the different seasons of the year
• Earth's imaginary orbit around the sun is called the elliptical in shape
• The movement of the earth around the sun is called revolution
• It takes 365 and 1/4 days for Earth to complete its journey around the Sun
• The four seasons are: Summer, Spring, Winter and Autumn
• From a point above North pole, The earth appears to revolve around in a counterclockwise direction
