Concept of contour lines
1. Contour lines are lines that map makers draw on maps to show the height and shape of the land
2. Contour lines are marked on large scale maps called topographic maps
3. The lines help you to 'read' what the land looks like

Each contour line joins points that are the same height above sea level

A person who makes maps
