    This is a form of local government which practices democracy since the people vote for the mayor and councillors. Meetings are open to the public to share their opinion.

    In functions through meetings between the leader and its members.

    Parliament is elected by the people and is representing the people. Any important decision is taken through the majority of voting and at times people are asked to give their opinion through a referendum.

    A pressure group functions through freedom of speech and freedom of opinion. Such groups express their opinion in various ways.

    The EU promotes democracy through the voting of MEPs, the rule of law and it defends human rights.

    It refers to a persons basic right in society to live ones life through responsible action in accordance of the moral law. The common good, is all the conditions in society that enable people to live their lives in an easier and straightforward manner.

    It is an organisation which tries to obtain and maintain political power within a government, usually by participating in electoral campaigns. A political party expresses a particular ideology or specific goals. The electoral system is the major factor determining the type of party political system.
  • What is the local government?
    It refers to the control that a town or village exercise over decisions and resources which impact on it and influence its running and upkeep.
  • What is community development?
    It tries to empower people and groups with skills that are required to make a change within a community they are leaving. These skills are linked to political power. Therefore, people should know how to work with other individuals and how to leave an effect on the community.

    This is a form of local government where every locality has its own council. the local council a governing body in the locality and takes decisions concerning that particular locality.

    Rights that protect individuals' ability to participate in the political process, such as the right to vote, freedom of speech, and freedom of assembly, the right of citizenship and the right to hold a public office.
  • What are civil rights?
    Those rights that belong to every citizen of the state. These rights are not connected with the organisation or administration of the government. These include rights of property, marriage, protection by law, freedom to contract, trial by jury. These rights are capable of being enforced or redressed in a civil action in court.
