TB management

• Management of TB:

  • The goal of treatment is to fight TB bacteria with anti-TB antibiotics
  • Rifampicin, Isoniazid, Pyrazinamide, Ethambutol
  • Treatment of active pulmonary TB will always involve a combination of many drugs (usually four drugs)
  • Respiratory physiotherapy
  • Airway clearance
  • Breathlessness management
  • Pulmonary rehabilitation
• Infection Control:

  • Personal protective equipment
  • Face shield or goggles
  • Gloves
  • FFP3 mask
  • Gown
  • Apron
  • Side room (isolated from other patients)
