  • Ocular lens
    It’s where you look to see the objet being examined. Has 10x zoom.
  • Body tube

    Directs the image from the objective lens to the ocular lens. Holds the ocular lens and revolving nosepiece.
  • Arm
    Used to carry/move the microscope. Supports the body tube.
  • Revolving Nosepiece
    Where objective lenses are attached. Revolves so that objective lenses can be switched.
  • Low objective lens
    Magnifies the specimen at 4x zoom. Use with coarse adjustment knob.
  • Médium Objective lens
    Magnifies the specimen at 10x zoom. Use ONLY with fine adjustment knob.
  • High Objective Lens
    Magnifies the specimen at 40x zoom. Use ONLY with fine adjustment knob.
  • Stage
    Where you place the microscope slide. Has hole in the middle to allow light to come through.
  • Stage clips
    Holds microscope slide in place. Can be used to move the slide around
  • Condenser
    Used to adjust the contrast of the image that you see by changing the refraction of the light rays.
  • Diaphragm
    Adjusts the amount of light coming though the condenser and stage.
  • Coarse Adjustment knob
    Moves the stage up/down in very LARGE increments. Use ONLY with LOW objective lens.
  • Fine adjustment knob
    Moves the stage up/down in very SMALL increments Can be used with any of the objective lenses.
  • Light source
    Illuminates speciment that is being examined.
  • Base
    Heavy to help stabilize the microscope. Where you find the power button and light adjustment dial.
