  • Action: moves eye medially

• Superior rectus 

  • Action: elevates eye and turns it medially
  • Controlling cranial nerve: III (oculomotor)
• Inferior rectus 

  • Action: depresses eye and turns it medially
  • Controlling cranial nerve: III (oculomotor)
• inferior oblique

  • Action: elevates eye and turns it laterally
  • Controlling cranial nerve: III (oculomotor)
• Superior oblique

  • Action: depresses eye and turns it laterally
