Psychoanalysis is a type of therapy that aims to release pent-up or repressed emotions and memories in or to lead the client to catharsis.

Preconscious - the home of everything we can recall or retrievesfrom our memory
Unconscious - the deepest part level of our mindsreside a repository of the processes that drive our behavior, including primitive and instinctual desires.

Superego
Id - operates at an unconscious level and focuses solely on instinctual drives and desire.
Ego-ego acts as both conduit for and check on the id. It is the most tied reality and begins to develop in infancy.
Superego - the portion of mind which morality and higher principle resides.
First stage (birth to eighteen months) Oral - the child seeks pleasure from the mouth like sucking.
Second Stage (eighteen months to three years) Anal-child's main pleasure turns towards (anus) bladder and bowel control, and a child gains pleasure from controlling these activities.
Third Stage (three to six years) Phallic - Child's pleasure turns towards the genitals. When a boy unconsciously develops sexual desire for his mother, and sees his father as a competition is called Oedipus Complex. While Electra Complex is when a daughter develops competition with her mother.
Fourth Stage (six years to puberty) Latent - the child has little or no sexual motivation. Child's sexual urgers are suppressed and sexual energy of the child is directed towards other challenges like social interactions.
Fifth Stage (Puberty to adulthood) Genitals - The onset of puberty causes the libido to become active once again. The individual develops a strong sexual interest in the opposite sex. This stage begins during puberty but last throughout the rest of a person's life.
