LeopoldoSalcedo - was a Bodabil performer in the
Theater Avenue during the Japanese regime where he joined
the troupe of Lou Borromeo in 1929 to 1934. He was well
known for portraying dramatic heroes for his roles in movies
where he was dubbed as “The Great Profile”. His first movie
where he starred is the movie “Sawing Palad”. He became a
FAMAS best actor awardee for his role in the movie “Moises
Padilla Story” on 1961.

talks about Filipino foibles (weak point)

was a Filipina comedian and singer
Rogelio de la Rosa - is one of the most popular matinee actor
of the 20th century and was a Bodabil star during the early years
of his career at the Life Theater in Manila from 1941 to 1945. He
was a FAMAS award winner of “Best Actor” for his role in the
movie “Higit sa Lahat” in 1956.
Catalina Dela Cruz - was dubbed as the Philippine Queen of Bodabil.
Sarsuela - originated from Spain and was popularized in
the Philippines during the Spanish regime in 1800’s
Sandugong Panaginip (1902) - was composed
by Lasilao Bonus (Father of PhilippineOpera). It is
the first Filipino opera dubbed in tagalog and it is a
one-act opera with five scenes.
Bayani Casimero Sr.- a leading Bodabil star during the 1930s
and 1940s and later appeared in a musical film with a comedic
role. He was also dubbed as “Fred Astaire” of the Philippines due
to his excellence in tap dancing
Adelaida Fernando-Villegas - also known as Dely Atay-atayan
was a Filipina comedian and singer. Her career started from starring
in Bodabil acts from 1930 to 1934 and later landed to television as a
sitcom artist.
